We’re likely just a week away from the Nokia 8’s launch, but that hasn’t stopped new leaks rolling in, with today’s taking the form of several shots of the phone, complete with benchmark results onscreen, revealing various specs.
Sadly, the images, which were found by Slashleaks, are dark and low quality enough that we can’t make out any details on the phone itself, other than the presence of fairly large bezels above and below the screen, noticeable bezels to the side (so this isn’t an edge-to-edge display) and back and home keys below the display.
What’s on the screen is slightly more illuminating, revealing that the Nokia 8 will apparently have a Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4GB of RAM and a 1440 x 2560 display.
The size of the display isn’t listed, but we’ve heard before that it would be 5.3 inches, and the 559ppi pixel density listed here would roughly line up with that.
Painting a high-end picture
In fact, these are all specs that we’ve heard before, so while there’s not really anything new here it’s increasingly likely that this information is accurate.
If so that would make the Nokia 8 a high-end phone, albeit one with a possibly slightly bland design compared to the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S8 or the upcoming iPhone 8.
We should know soon, as HMD Global (the company behind the current Nokia phones) is holding an event on August 16.
