A new tablet has appeared without any formal announcements on T-Mobile’s support website, and it is called the LG GPad X2 8.0 Plus. This tablet marks the second time a device has appeared ahead of launch on the carrier’s site, the first being the carrier’s own Revvl smartphone. As far as this tablet is concerned, it appears to have decent specs alongside support for the Uncarrier’s LTE network.
Though T-Mobile’s support page for the tablet, which is itself an update to the previous GPad released through the carrier years ago, includes a list of specifications, not all of the data is listed yet, with some categories like battery life currently being XX’ed out. We do know, however, that this model features an 8-inch display with a 1920 x 1200 resolution, as well as an octa-core 1.4GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage.
The tablet accepts nano SIM cards and, of course, can be used on the carrier’s network including with 4G LTE. The model has a 5MP camera on both the front and rear of the device, the front camera including ‘Auto Shot.’ Connectivity includes 802.11b/g/n WiFi, support for tethering, Bluetooth 4.2, and micro USB rather than USB-C.
Other features are fairly standard, including things like support for various audio and video formats, ‘advanced messaging,’ and slower networks like 3G. The tablet is listed as running Android 7.0 Nougat, but no other details, such as launch date and price, were provided. Given that the tablet is now listed on the carrier’s support website, it is likely to be officially announced any day now.
T-Mobile is gearing up to launch its own lineup of self-branded smartphones, as well, all of them tipped to feature the ‘Revvl’ name. The first of these phones recently popped up on the carrier’s site, doing so around the same time promotional material leaked showing a $0/month price tag. That is in line with past rumors which claim that the phone won’t cost anything as long as the customer sticks with the carrier for a certain span of time.
